The innovative Fellowes MS-450Cs is ideal for use in the home or office. MicroShred feature shreds up to 7 sheets per pass into 5/64" x 5/16" cross-cut particles as fast as 60 sheets per minute. NEW Ultra-Quiet Operation with virtually silent motor for use in shared spaces or cubicles. Exclusive SafeSense Technology stops shredder immediately when hands are too close to the paper opening.


Equipped with an 8.75" paper entry, the MS-450Cs easily accepts letter or legal size documents, and features durable steel cutters that accept staples and paper clips. Designated safety slot with 0.78-gallon media wastebasket accepts credit cards and CDs. Shredder automatically shuts off and alerts operator when a jam occurs, 4.5-gallon pull-out wastebasket is ajar, or shredder is overheated. Window allows user to see if wastebasket is full. Auto start/stop ensures quick, easy shredder operation. Includes casters for portability.

Overview

The Fellowes MS-450 shredder is an excellent shredder. It shreds very well for a medium duty paper shredder, very quiet and an excellent value. It would be an excellent shredder to place in a reception area that needs to be quiet. This shredder is great for an executive of an executive assistant.

Introduction
The Fellowes Microshred MS-450 is an extremely quiet and highly secure paper shredder. Think of the motor noises you associate with a paper shredder and those know that those do not exist with this paper shredder. The shred is also much smaller than your typical cross cut shredder making your shredded documents much safer. If you are in need of a shredder that can go at an executive’s desk, outside an executive’s office, receptionist’s desk, or near a waiting area, the Fellowes Microshred MS-450 is a great option. This one of the more stylish shredders and has good aesthetic appeal.

Shredder
The motor emits almost no noise The shred is extremely fine and the document is completely destroyed. The shredder had no problem ripping through seven pages which is the maximum pages per pass. The shred is much smaller and more secure than your typical cross cut paper shredder
Like most Fellowes paper shredders this one uses Safe Sense Technology. This means the shredder will stop shredding when you hand or any object gets near the opening of the paper shredder.

Waste Basket
There is a clear window that is over half of the height that makes it very easy to see how full the shredder waste basket is. Being able to tell visually when the shredder is getting close to being full is a big advantage. Sensors are not always accurate and a shredder waste basket that has been overfilled is a huge mess.

The basket pulls out from the front. A very nice feature is the shelf at the top of the waste basket. The shelf gives you a great place to store all of your shredder supplies
There is a small shelf in the waste basket that allows you to store supplies including waste bags and shredder oil. There is plenty of room allowing you to store a full bottle of shredder oil and lots of shredder bags.

I love this shredder! It does it all, and it does it well. If you are expecting non-stop shredding every second of the day, then don't buy this and go spend in the thousands. If you have a need for some small business shredding, then this will do it. The only thing I can tell you is to shop for price. I bought mine, and the next week it was $50 off! I went straight back for a price adjustment. I was dismayed, of course, to see that Costco now has the same thing for A LOT less. If you are a member, check it out. In any case, you can't go wrong for the price.
