Pros and Cons

Pros Looks good and has wheels for easy manuvre.
Cons Very inferior quality

Review

I purchased this shredder on sale from office depot.
Nevertheless, I can not recommend this shredder, it is noisy, jams frequently and is extremely noisy.
It is one of those machines that looks great, but performs inadequately.

Pros and Cons

Pros looks good
Cons auto on/off failed after a few weeks - have to manually turn it on
noisy
broke after a year of very light use

Review

the Ativa shredder is a piece of over-priced junk. I have a simple home office and light use of a shredder - the auto on/off switch malfunctioned in the third week of use and I've used manual on/off ever since.
It's mechanism has gotten progressively louder and now now it makes a horrible mechanical grinding sound and will not shred sheets of paper but it will reverse with loud grinding noise.
I have used Office Depot oil to periodically lubricate the blade area
It is junk.... I would never buy Ativa again nor get any shredder at Office Depot.

Shredder worked ok, supposed to shred 18 sheets of paper. I had 10 sheets in it and the gears started grinding. I looked inside to see what the problem is and now they will not honor the warranty. I am out $200 and cannot find a replacement gear. If anyone has one please let me know.

It failed after first week, it starts and never turns off. User must manually move switch to off. It will auto start but not turn off.
