Purchased this shredder a few months back and have used it twice so far. It claims to be able to handle 10 sheets, but three sheets is the max. After about five minutes of use, it will over heat and shut down for about thirty minutes. After cool down, about five more minutes of use and the same thing happens. I would recommend to stay away from this shredder if at all possible.
I thought this shredder was good until a year passed. When I tried getting a replacement, it was very difficult. Ativa and Office depot are not on the same page on stuff. Finally some one by the name Victoria from Ativa Tech support helped me. Another guy from Ativa was good. Nesta from office depot was good. Some people just were bad CS reps others were exellent. But Office depot has a process that makes it difficult to work with. As far as I am concerned Office Depot lost my Organization as a customer. I cant afford to spend 2 hours trying to get a replacement for a screwed up shredder.
We've only had this shredder a few months and used it once a few weeks ago to shred our personal bills. Just this morning we heard it running in the office and went in and it was smoking and running...no one had been using it. VERY scary! Stay away from this shredder!
We have had this shredder less than 2 years and have had problems with it for most of the time. Office Depot did not stand behind the product when we first starting having problems. Instead I was told to "try fixing it myself," which I tried, but it has never worked. Then, Office Depot would "decide" if the problem was caused from misuse or defective product. The plastic teeth break off causing jams and paper not to fee properly.
